Description
MCAS is an autoimmune disorder where Mast Cells, a type of white blood cell, respond inappropriately and incessantly to allergens or perceived allergens. They do so by releasing mediators stored or manufactured inside the cells, which then release histamines and IgE which bind to proteins, causing allergy symptoms. MCAS is usually preceded by other coinfections, such as toxicity from Lyme, Babesia, Bartonella, molds and other toxins. These mast cells become hyper-responsive, as the Immune system thinks the body is in continual danger.
